North School Archive
The North School District (or Delhi District No. 2) operated in Delhi Township from 1842 through 1960. Political and educational annexation with the City of Lansing claimed the Miller Road Community and its beloved North School and ever since the Lansing School District has operated North Elementary School.
In the decades since, the North School Alumni Group has held annual reunions and collected memorabilia and history to document their experiences at North School and living in the Miller Road Community. North School Alumni historian Paul D. Hein donated the alumni archive to the Holt-Delhi Historical Society in 2024 for long-term preservation and digitization.
Remembering…
Built in 1924 at the corner of Miller Road and Kaynorth Street, the North School brick building served the North School District through 1960. It continued with the Lansing School District until 1965, when it became the District Administration Center through 1977. The old building was demolished in the Summer of 1978.
