Mason-Holt Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #3734
Delhi Division, Ingham County Sheriff’s Department
2045 North Cedar Street, Holt, Michigan
Status: Still Standing
Opened: 1957
Architect: Unknown
Originally built in 1957 for the fine dining restaurant The Embers. The establishment was a favorite in Holt and lasted through 1969. In 1970, the building was occupied by Colonel Bell’s Hickory Cooked Barbeque restaurant, which lasted just a short time. By 1971, Bretton Square Restaurant operated out of the building. Bretton Square became a catering business after a short while and lasted for much of the 1970s.
By the mid-1980s, the building became the home of the Mason-Holt Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #3734. The Eagles occupied the building until a devastating fire tore through the clubhouse in 2002.
To save and rehabilitate the fire-damaged structure, the Delhi Township Downtown Development Authority (DDA) purchased the building in 2003. It was renovated to house the offices of the Delhi Division of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department and the DDA offices. The DDA offices remained in the building through 2017. Today it is solely the headquarters for the Delhi Division of the Sheriff’s Department.
